"Traveller's Rest" Tynemouth Plaza Bobbin Landscape

I really enjoy working in miniature and repurposing found objects, so you can imagine how much I enjoy creating these tiny landscape bobbins! Using an old family photo, taken in the late 1950's, of Tynemouth Plaza, I've worked a miniature landscape in textile collage and stitch and mounted it on a vintage wooden, Fruit of the Loom bobbin.

The bobbin comes in a brown, kraft gift box and stands at just a few centimetres tall (see my hands in the video for scale!) A lovely addition to a shelf or a display of curios.

I can thread a little pice of jute twine through the centre. If you would like your bobbin to hang, please leave a note with your order and I will thread the bobbin for you (easily removed if you change your mind!)
